transition into spring
Now that Daylight Savings Time is about to begin, it's really time to transition into spring. Here in LA, it's been warm for a while, but if it's still a little cold I like to add a jacket. The best choice is a trench, it's the perfect transition piece. This coat is my 'winter' coat out here, so I tied the belt back and rolled up the sleeves to give it a "springtime" feel. Leaving it untied also shows the pink lining, which adds to the spring look.
The trench is one of the most classic, yet versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. This coat serves as my winter jacket because it's long and thick. But it can double up as a light spring coat with just a few tweaks.
This Burberry coat is the trench of all trenches. Obviously, if spending that amount of money on a coat, I'll be wearing it forever. Maybe I misread the price on this one, but the CK trench seems like a really good deal :PP
Another good quality trench at a great price is the coat from Gap.
Another trend I've seen a lot right now is platforms. these Prada shoes are a great colour for spring, and the platform and pointed toe are right on trend. Here's another pair on an even bigger sale. I never really wore platforms, but I love these shoes.
The Pradas match my lipstick, Viva Glam III! I don't wear it that often because it's such a bold look, but I thought it would be cool to match with my shoes.
Yet another trend popular for spring is bold colours.
This dress obviously fits the bill. It's Alice + Oliva Fierra dress, it's perfect for a transition into spring with that bright colour.
This is another Alice + Olivia dress in the exact same colour as mine. It is also a great dress to pair with platforms, as the one shoulder style gives off a 70s vibe. If you like a longer maxi dress, check out this one, in coral as well.
For a more fitted look, and a dress that works well with a trench, this Alice + Olivia is the perfect choice. This Narcisco Rodriguez is also excellent, and could work for the office too. I also love this Trina Turk dress, the simple style is great if you're not too comfortable wearing such a bright colour.
I hope your transition into spring goes well ;) and don't forget to set your clocks forward Sunday!
