They call it stormy monday...
They call it stormy Monday, but Tuesday's just as bad... Or in this case, stormy Friday (or stormy Saturday -- you get the point). It's finally cooled down and actually got chilly enough for me to wear a jacket!
I love this weather because I can still get away with wearing a skirt and tank, but the trench, even though super light will be just enough to keep me warm.
Now, of course when BB King was singing Stormy Monday, he didn't mean the weather, but we can play around with the meaning, no? ;)
My trench, which is one of four, is from Forever21. This jacket is a classic trench with all the appropriate buttons and flaps. The length is also great as it hits mid hip, it works with a short skirt. It's a very thin material, so its more of a summer/spring jacket, but it is completely waterproof.
I'm not a big fan of Forever21 due to their labour practices, shoddy craftsmanship, and overall contribution to the growing consumerism epidemic. However, I think a jacket like this one was a great purchase.
My skirt is probably one of my favourite. It's Philip Lim, from years ago unfortunately. I love that it's lined, and wool, it's such a great fall skirt. And the style is a classic. This Balenciaga skirt is a similar style and fabric. It's reminiscent of the Chanel skirts, in fact, people ask me if mine is a Chanel all the time.
I chose the asymmetrical top because I like how the top layer hangs out of the waistband. It's the Robert Rodriguez tiered top (here in orange), it's three layers so I like leaving it untucked a little, it just looks more interesting than any ordinary tank.
Finally, I slipped into my Manolos and went out into the storm. Not really, just some scattered clouds.
But seriously, I probably could get away with these shoes in the rain. I also like these Ivanka Trump heels, they're really similar, and are very comfortable. Also check out these Neiman Marcus brand pumps. Everything I bought from their store brand has been really great.
Hope you all have a great weekend, and a not so stormy Monday!
