[easy-image-collage id=692] It's already summer and I promised myself I would wear more colors...Starting right after this post hehe :)
My favorite thing to do around this time is choose my summer black. Just like my earlier post on white before memorial day, black is traditionally a warmer, darker color..and summer is a time for light fabrics and colors.
Summer black usually refers to things like sheer tops, shorts, and crop tops.
I love wearing this Alexander Wang skirt, especially in the summer, because it's not a traditional "summertime" skirt.
Last time I wore this outfit, someone told me I look like I'm getting an award :D So that was pretty cool
As a summer black it works wonderfully because it has a tulip front and the fabric is lighter. Because it's not too structured, it can pass as a season-less item.
I have another shirt that's my favorite summer black top. It's a sheer sillk tank, but for this outfit I like a crop top. I only really wear them if they match exactly to my skirt. I think it looks better if it resembles a two piece. I think it works out pretty well in this case..don't mind my pasty stomach :P :P
It's really important to have some nice options for summer black. Just in case you get fashion brain-freeze (like I do), you will want to turn to something black, since it goes with everything. And when it is a hundred degrees outside, you'll want it to be something cool and easy.
Pair it with a tan shoe, and you'll look cute no matter what.
I chose some gold jewelry to top it all off -- a big statement necklace will set off all the black I'm wearing. And I love the snake ring, it originally had that "tarnished" look, but I replated it, so its brighter.
