knotted at the waist
How come I have never thought of this before?? Lately, the most simple solutions have been really hard to find for some reason. I apologize for not writing for a long time, I was dealing with some anxiety stuff which made it impossible for me to do anything else.
For years I have struggled with bad tuckin jobs, were it looked like I had a lumpy butt or a weird growth on my right hip. And never have I ever considered wearing a shirt knotted at the waist.
It really made my pants fit the way the were supposed to. And even though it is not much of a difference, it made my outfit look more casual and suitable for getting some coffee (which I did).
The top is my favorite Joie Alicia top that I end up wearing almost all the time now. It's still on sale here, but you better hurry if you want to get your size. I never think twice about buying silk white tops. It's the kind of item you will get tons of wears out of. And now that you know you can wear it knotted at the waist, you'll get even more uses for it ;)
My bag is a quilted vintage Chanel (similar here and here). I love buying vintage because the price is much better... just kidding, I love them because there is virtually no other bag that looks like mine.
Chanel's quality is unparalleled, but I also love Rebecca Minkoff bags, and this is a perfect match if you don't want to splurge on a Chanel. Also check out this Calvin Klein bag, it's just similar enough, but not so identical that it looks like a knockoff.
My pants are from Gap, and I'm sad to say I haven't been able to find them at the store anymore. Here's a similar pair, without the line down the back. I'm hoping Gap has discontinued them while coming out with a new, better pant to replace them. Luckily I got two pairs, so if you can find your size, grab two!
There are of course millions of black pants out there, and I think the winners are these Vince riding pants. I hardly wear jeans, so black slacks are a must for me. These pants are high waist too, so perfect for wearing your top knotted at the waist!
I love this Equipment tank and recommend it to anyone looking to fill their wardrobe with top notch fabrics. They have some of the best quality silk I have ever worn. This GoSilk tank is another great option, it's longer, so it can easily be worn knotted at the waist. I know it might seem like a lot of money to spend on tops, but the amount of use you will get out of them far surpasses the price.
To finish off the look I went with my Manolo slingbacks, another item that far surpassed its price. I've had these shoes for probably 10 years now, and they look like they could have been purchased yesterday. I found these similar ones that look even more current. And of course there's the classic patent leather pump, this never goes out of style. Check out these shoes as well, an incredible price for leather.
I hope I could give you some inspiration for wearing your clothes a different way. Have a great week, and I promise I won't stay away for this long ever again ;)
