How To Rock A Ten Dollar Gown

I wish the answer were so simple as: just put it on! But you may have to do some legwork on your ten dollar gown first...ten dollar gown 1

There are a few things to consider before one can accurately rock such a dress.

First of all, since it's only ten dollars, it is not the best fabric. It is also not the best fit and construction, you may have to take it in on the sides, like I did. Although, the only reason I had to take it in was because I bought a size too big. But hey, can't beat that sale price!

You can also see how wrinkled it is. Because the dress is polyester, ironing it out was a challenge, which obviously wouldn't be the case with a dress like this Calvin Klein gown.

This ten dollar gown is from Forever21, which explains the price and some of the problems I had with the dress. However, I think it still looks pretty good!

The second step to rocking this ten dollar gown is the stole.

This one is a great piece to add to your fall and winter wardrobes. And of course it comes in faux fur as well ;)) and here in two-tone.

Third step: Manolo Blahnik d'Orsay sandals. These are the classic shoes from Sex & the City. I'm so glad I finally had a chance to wear them. Unfortunately, they're not being made anymore, but I found them here in size 9, and here in size 8.

And the final step to rocking the ten dollar gown: accessories.

Pair this look with some cluster earrings to really make it look fancy.

Now just grab a tiny clutch like this furry one, or this box clutch from Missguided, and you are good to go!

It is the accessories that make this ten dollar gown look like a perfect evening dress. The Manolos and the fur stole add a ton of sophistication. It's almost impossible to see the threads I left hanging out of the seams!

I always say you don't need to spend a lot of money to look nice. Ten dollars is certainly very little, but for a fun night out, this ten dollar gown does the trick!
