Smart Is Sexy
I love accessorizing with and handbags, but I never thought of glasses as an accessory. That's because up until now I never had the correct prescription, but after getting these Derek Lam glasses, I became a huge glasses nerd.
I usually wear contacts, they're just easier and more comfortable. Wearing glasses always looked so costume-y to me, like I was dressing up as a hipster for Halloween, which I'm not. I thought with a look like this, I definitely wouldn't be confused for a poser. And they make me look smart, which I am :)))
I've written about this outfit before, it's from Missguided, which has sent me a dirty skirt and a top that wasn't sewn properly. I don't want to recommend it, but if you're really interested, it can be found here.
I like matching two-pieces, and lace overlay things. Together, this makes a perfect contradictory match to the 'glasses nerd' look.
The blue is great, but I also love this white Brigitte Bailey dress. This Rachel Zoe dress in black is longer, while still remaining sheer. This Adrianna Papell dress is a more conservative version. And this light blue color is perfect for the summer.
I love the lace details on this Rickie Freeman gown. It's a lot fancier, and probably not right for a glasses nerd, but it's worth checking out.
The leather jacket is another great accessory that works with this outfit.
Accessories and Shoes
While the minimalist sandal was popular for a long time, I feel like I'm seeing a lot of shoes with more straps, like these from Tamara Mellon. Right after shooting this I got some vintage Dior sandals, which would look better here. I think t-strap sandals are the main thing to get for the warmer months.
For jewelry, I went with gold. Last time I wore this outfit, I wore silver, and I'm happy to see that gold complements this look as well.
I hope you're all having an easy hump day, and have a great rest of your week!
