What do you do if you bought a plunging red v-neck wool dress? Friendsmas!
This outfit is probably too revealing for our family or work parties. But its a good option for friendsmas with your other fashion forward friends. Or to show them how it's done, if you're the only fashion forward one ;)
I'm still taking inspiration from Balmain, especially the holiday lookbook which put the black tights front and center in my outfit decision cortex.
They're from Victoria's Secret by the way, which always had good quality hosiery.
This sweater or dress or sweaterdress (you decide) is Elizabeth and James. Not too long ago, I bought a bunch of their dresses in bulk. I really like their individualistic touch to everything. A lot of the items from their line were classic with unique elements (in this case, the sleeves grabbed my attention).
It was really difficult to find something very similar out there.
The color red is having a moment now, so I got like five, just so I have it (kidding!). This dress is a really nice red color that could double as a winter holiday dress and would also work at springtime.
Red is such a holiday color, especially on a sweater dress, there's virtually no other time to wear it, but I think this Milly dress would work year-round. And I love the flared sleeves!
I desperately wanted to wear this dress last year, but sadly, no friendsmas for me.
This year, I'm really excited to wear it with the stockings and Mary Janes.
I admit, I like the plunging neckline just because I can wear the gold bra underneath. I mean, you can't really go without one, because this dress is wool and itchy :P
Mine is from a capsule collection by Amber Valletta for Monrow, so it's not around anymore, but I found this similar one. I love how it doesn't look like a "traditional" bra.
I wore this bra as a top a few times before, but it always feels a little iffy, although some people did refer to it as a shirt. This is a much better version if you want something that's more like a top.
If you like just a hint of your lingerie showing, this one is a great option.
