For my second holiday outfit, I want to share this Elizabeth and James dress. Every year around the holidays I think of the ideal Christmas dress, and this one perfectly fits the bill.
Maybe it's the hunter green colour, or the sleeves that kind of look like elves' costumes, it really reminds me of Christmas.
I bought it years ago, when I was trying to add more colour to my closet. I usually only end up wearing it for Christmas because of the green color, but this Elizabeth and James dress would work for the holidays and year-round.
I love TheRealReal.com but because it's a consignment store, they only have one item in stock. Check out this Opening Ceremony dress for another green option.
If you have a really dressy holiday event to get to, check out this sequins dress. That shade of green look great on everyone.
But if you want something with a little drama, this Stella McCartney makes the perfect Christmas dress.
Last year, I wore this dress to a party and I skipped the tights and belt because I wanted to be more minimal.
Now I think it's just too much volume, the dress combined with flared sleeves just looks too boxy this year.
I went with my mom's reversible belt, the other side is red, which I'll wear with another Christmas dress later ;)
This Ferragamo belt is my favorite, because it's red and black just like mine. It's really beneficial to have a reversible belt, especially if you're traveling. This one is another great Ferragamo piece in a more demure color.
This Tory Burch belt is more Christmas-y because of the silver color. I think it would work great in this outfit as well!
I was really glad to see Mary Jane shoes on the runways this year. I was just thinking about my Manolos, yes, the ones from Sex and the City. I wore them so few times, and I began thinking about selling them, seeing as Mary Janes seemed so dated.
Manolo Blahnik spruced up the classic design with a more modern heel. The older design had a more flared heel, which I think is what made me think they were no longer in style. But they are still out there, selling out fast on TheRealReal.
The Mary Jane is a great shoe for this Christmas dress. They just have a slightly more formal look. And the strap makes wearing tights much easier!
These Manolos are a much less basic style, perfect for someone who's more of a risk taker than me ;)))
If you prefer the classic Mary Janes, these Lanvin pumps are absolutely gorgeous. The jeweled clasp is a perfect accent.
Hope you all enjoy your holiday parties and get some great gifts under the tree!
