How To Do Casual Outfits Right
Spice Up Casual Outfits
Casual outfits are great, but if you're like me, you're wearing black pants and white tops every day. It gets super boring. I always try to spice up casual outfits by doing something different. In this case, I added a corset belt given to me by my wonderful friend. It adds just a bit of an edge to my usual, boring every-day outfit.
Get The Look
The best way to make this outfit work is to have a nice compilation of basics. In my case, that's ten white tank tops and ten black pairs of pants. But that's not necessary... one or two plain items with simple styles are a great way to get started. I like this outfit with a plain white tank, and I think a silk one would be even better than what I went with.
Suede pants are not something one would consider in casual outfits, but they are a great way to add versatility if you wear black pants all the time. These faux leggings are not too expensive and look great.
I went with a lot of furry items for this look because it is 'winter.' And yes, this is my winter coat. It is a lined cardigan from Free People :DDD We don't need a super warm jacket in these parts, but I love the furry collar, as it adds some uniqueness to all casual outfits.
The piece de resistance is the corset belt, of course. It's a great addition to any belt collection because it can double as a waist shaper, and it makes every outfit look fitted. The fit is key in determining whether something looks good.
I love these Manolo Blahnik pumps, but it is yet another basic item. With all the other accessories going on in this outfit, it's best to keep the shoes simple!
I hope you're all having a great winter, stay warm out there!
