award shows

All these award shows got me like.... what would I wear? Well, I'd definitely be gifted some fancy gown for my oscar-worthy performance, but I think I'd want it to look something like this.

I always loved the stoic look of a column gown. And having two different colors in there always adds a best-dressed list contention.

In reality this is just a one-shoulder tee-shirt and skirt, made from very simple, casual fabrics. That makes this outfit more accessible and wearable day-to-day, while still retaining the air of sophistication an award show gown might have.

The skirt is Helmut Lang, a versatile maxi that I wear anytime a long skirt is required. This Helmut Lang skirt is great too.

This Halston skirt is especially award shows worthy.

The look I was going for is something like this Elizabeth and James dress (or here in red). Obviously, these two dresses are much fancier.

For a more casual dress, I love this white mid length option. This Halston dress is also great mini length.

But in keeping with the top and skirt trend, I love this Opening Ceremony top, it's great especially since you won't need a strapless bra with it. This top is a high-drama option that could work with many other outfits as well

I went with the Manolo Chaos again, this time in black. Make sure to check out these Givenchy sandals on sale now!

These suede Tory Burch are great too. And of course, these Nordstrom brand sandals are the perfect price.

Obviously, award shows are about jewelry as much as they are about clothes. But since I'm not going to one, I went with some simple twist earrings (similar here and here) and a Ralph Lauren bangle set. I like bracelet sets because you can wear one or all of them, and it lets you get the most out of it. This set is great and versatile, while this ABS set is great for stacking.

Who do you you guys think is best dressed at this year's award shows?
