What To Wear: One Shirt Five Ways
As you may have noticed, my favourite thing in life is something that serves multiple purposes. Here’s a weird secret: I like packing. And when I’m packing, I love finding an article of clothing that can work many different ways. So without further ado, here is What To Wear: One Shirt Five Ways.
as a dress (kind of)
So this is a great outfit I would wear constantly this summer. It’s cool, light, and I love the black lingerie peeking out. I like choosing a longer shirt because it would work great for this purpose.
as a shirt (duh)
You might be surprised by how big of a difference it can make leaving your shirt tucked out. Buttoning it up or down also changes the whole look. This is somewhat work-appropriate, maybe with a longer skirt or pants.
tied at the waist
This is another favourite outfit of mine you might remember from the wardrobe cluster post. This is a great way to take an outfit and change it as the day progresses. Just wear the shirt buttoned up, and then unbutton and tie at the waist to change your look without any work!
as a jacket
It seems insane right now to even think about putting a jacket on, but it might be a good idea to grab something light to wear at night. Wearing your button-down over a crop top and skirt makes this outfit look more conservative, while still summery. When I first realized I can wear button-downs as jackets, it was like a revelation. It’s a perfect summer coat!
off the shoulder
This outfit is perfect to wear out at night. This is a classic day-to-night option. Wear the button-down to work, and then just pull it off the shoulder for the evening! I’m wearing it with shorts, but this would work with any bottom you have on during the day.
These are really unique ways to wear one shirt five ways. It works best with a longer button-down, that has a bit of stretch. Pair it with some staples and you are good to go! Check these out!
